The Answer to - Guess the Safety Violation

Here is the picture from Wednesday.

Look above the cylinder. Yes that sign says EXIT. Emergency exits are for use in emergencies (I know, you would think that was obvious).

So picture this, a fire occurs in the building and the employees rush to evacuate. But FIRST, let move the large cylinder blocking the FIRE DOOR!

Many times Safety is just common sense!

No wait! The cylinder is an extra large fire extinguisher, right? That way you can try to squelch the fire as you sizzle.

Common sense seems to be so uncommon these days!

(for instance, the kind of common sense that says one should make Damama happy and get rid of that pesky word verification thing so she doesn't have to try 2.. no 3 times to get it right so her comment can post. grrrr!!!) xoxoxo

Hi Robin, I hope you had a good birthday too. We don't really have health and safety so much here in France. They seem to rely more on common sense. There certainly is not such a suing culture here.

I agree with you about home grown veggies and herbs, you can't beat them. Debs x

Jules - yes that is the momma fire extinguisher, and it is protecting its baby right behind it. LOL

Damama - It is always good to have you visit. I will try to turn off the word verification. Thanks for fighting through.

Debs - I don't know much about the safety record in France, there have been a couple big explosions that Students have used for their presentation. Maybe I sould visit and check it out (you will see the south of France is in my top places to visit.)

Ohmommy - I am always happy to make someone laugh.

Dani - Thanks for visiting. I am actually a chemical engineer, I teach process safety at the university and personal safety for the state. I don't know any of the professors you mention, where do they teach? I am always looking for personal stories of safety violations, so feel free to share.

hi robin,
they were my professors at murray state universtiy in kentucky. i think three of them are still there, however, the others have trasferred or retired...
upon thinking you were a safety engineer as opposed to a chemical engineer, i thought maybe you would have maybe known them through the grapevine:D
i hope you are having a great memorial day weekend,
dani
