In this part of the country, we call them crawdads. This was a pretty big one that we almost ran over with the truck. Instead we got out and took pictures of it. And that is what geeks do.
Did you cook it?! Thanks Robin for your great message on my blog - it was very kind of you.
By the way, an exceptionally quick recipe for prawns in a stir fry and literally done in minutes.
1 tablespoon of groundnut oil 8 raw tiger prawns - you call them shrimp I think but not too small - heads off, deveined, tail on. 8 tablespoons of ketchup. 1 tablespoon of ligt soa sauce. 1 spring onion finely chopped.
Heat oil, throw in prawns and cook until pink, add the ketchup and stir well, and stir in soy sauce just after. Cook for a minute, add the spring onion and stir. serve on a bed of rice or noodles! Honestly I tried it this week as I was intrigued to see what it tasted like and it was very nice. My husband loved it and they are great just on their own too as a geat snack or finger food.
Copywrite of Ching-He Haung and her cookery book called China Modern. It's a fusion style cook book that I got last week. Yum!

Where's the butter?!
Now if you get about 2 dozen of those and throw them in the pot at once, you'll have Cajuns beating down your door!
Wow, that's a tiny lobster. Crawfish?
